The work ‘Entrance (Exit)’ is installed in the former stables of the castle of Enghien. It is the first space of the exhibition and serves equally as the exit point after one has toured the subsequent rooms. The work itself takes the form of a corridor (a passageway) that can be traversed in either direction. The work offers multiple non-functional points of entry, thereby highlighting that every entrance can be also an exit. As a distinct entity, the work constitutes a true “passage-place”—a transition, a metaphor in the broadest sense of the term.
